What supplements should I take?

Supplements can be great for you, but it is important to remember that they are just that: supplements. There is no magic ‘supplement’ that you can take that will cancel out the McDonald’s meal you ate last night!

Supplements do not replace eating wholesome and nutritious foods!

In saying that though, some supplements can help you to achieve your health and fitness goals. 

Here are our supplement suggestions!

  1. Protein

There are many different forms of protein supplements. They come mostly through milk-based products, but vegetable-based ones, and other specialty items, are on offer. You generally use protein supplements before, during and after your workout. As a liquid, protein powders can be quickly absorbed by your body when it is needed most.   1. Apple cider vinegar

A really cheap product ($4 at Aldi in Australia!) for what it can accomplish! ACV can kill bad bacteria in your gut which aids digestion, lowers blood sugar, increases leptin (the hormone which helps you feel fuller for longer) and lowers cholesterol. We recommend a 30ml shot a day. If you find it hard to stomach, mix it with half a cup of juice.

  1. Magnesium

The most abundant mineral in your body is magnesium, but it is probably the one we are most deficient in (zinc being second). You name - it magnesium does it: improves detoxification, improves energy systems, improves heart and lung performance, improves brain function and helps you sleep better. It also reduces stress levels and helps you sleep. Magnesium is easily depleted by alcohol and processed foods, so it is an important mineral to supplement.

  1. Zinc

Zinc is one of the most important minerals in your body, yet it has one of the highest rates of deficiency. Taking zinc as a supplement will correct hormone inbalances between testosterone and estrogen (which will aid with burning fat and building lean muscle). It will also aid organ function, immunity and will improve your hair, skin and nails.
