Here in BBB land, we LOVE AN AVO! Avocados are packed with vitamins, high in cholesterol fighting good fat, low in carbs, and full of fibre (hello improved digestion!).
And if your goal is to lose weight, avocados will be your new best friend! They are high in calories so you might think they should be on the banned foods list, but this couldn't be less true. Avocados are they are the PERFECT companion to help you achieve your goal. And if your goal isn't to Lose, avocados are still perfect for you as their nutritional benefits are phenomenal!
Here are our top 5 ways to use an avocado...
1. AS A SPREAD!
This is a fantastic alternative to margarine or butter (which unless you buy the pure one, is usually processed) as avocados are CLEAN! BBB Babes, get spreading! Our fave is on sourdough toast with a sprinkle of salt and pepper - yum!
2. BY ITSELF!
(Those who have EAT Nutrition Guide will be familiar with this, but...) One of our fave snacks is half an avocado with cottage cheese.... yummmmmm! And this combo packs a fat and protein punch, which will leave you full and energised.
3. WITH EGGS!
Eggs and avocado are like Karina and Ryan, a match made in heaven! Whether you have your eggs hard boiled, scrambled or poached, they taste twice as good with avocado. Try it next time you whip up some eggs.
4. AS A FACE MASK!
Don't laugh, you might end up looking like the grinch for a moment in time, but can you put a price on amazing skin? NO! Mash one avocado with a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of yoghurt, then evenly spread it across your face. You can send us a thank you note later, you're welcome.
5. AS A DIP!
