We love how loving and supportive our BBB family is towards each other! Today that support is coming by way of our gorgeous BBB Babe, Shannon Stevens. Not only is Shannon an all out babe, but she was also a Runner Up in our second 12 Week Challenge of 2018.
Shannon knows better than anyone how to stay motivated to reach a goal! And she has taken some time out to share her tips and tricks to reach your health and fitness goal. We asked Shannon some of your most commonly asked questions... here is what she had to say:
Q. How do you stay motivated?
Let your friends and family know that you are doing the program [so that they can] be as excited about it as you are. The attitude you approach this with is the attitude you will carry with you throughout the program. So talk about how great it is and how you might be on a pretty strict diet this week but every week it gets a little less intense. You will be surprised how many people will be interested and supportive of your endeavor.
Even if you can’t finish the whole set in your circuit do as much as you can. Take a little break and come back to finish it! Another tip is to make daily affirmations! These I have always used and I occasionally tailor them to help me through any challenges I might be experiencing in life. Wake up in the morning and say them before you start your day, remind yourself of any that stand out throughout the day!
During my 12 week challenge these were my 10 affirmations I had written in my daily agenda ☺

Q. How do you battle cravings?
Find fun and healthy ways to enjoy your favourite foods: cauliflower pizza, nachos on a bed of sweet peppers instead of chips, google has all the answers. Mint chocolate protein powder with coconut milk for dessert! Freeze it down and it’s like ice cream When you do indulge don’t beat yourself up for it. Enjoy it! One bite isn’t going to kill you.
Q. What are your favourite snacks?
Homemade hummus. Iced green tea. Cottage cheese and cucumber. Homemade trail mix from my bulk store (almonds, goji berries, dried edamame beans, pumpkin seeds).
Real fruit lollies, best way to cool down! There are so many great recipes on the net for these! Just make sure to leave out any extra-added sugar.
Chicken Bites: I like to cut chicken breast into little cubes and then coat them with my favourite spices, pop em in the oven and then have them in the fridge for a quick protein snack.
